Gastrointestinal surgery involves any condition associated with the parts of the body involved in digestion. This includes Oesophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and rectum. It also includes liver, gallbladder, and pancreas.
To further identify and evaluate any gastrointestinal conditions, an initial consultation followed by broad and specific investigations are needed such as blood tests, radiological scans especially Ultrasound, CT and MRI.
